Alwanga: It’s time to step up
Clifford Alwanga admits that he has to rediscover his scoring touch to place the team in good stead of challenging for the league title.
Alwanga, who scored 11 goals last season, has struggled to replicate those exploits having managed a paltry three in 13 appearances this season.
“The first leg did not work out well for me but I have started the second leg very well. I am hoping for better fortunes because we have to score many goals to remain in the title race,” said Alwanga.
The lanky forward is likely to lead the line against KCB at Kenyatta Stadium on Wednesday and he can’t wait to sting his former employers again.
“I was at KCB for a very long time and most of their players know me very well. It will be a tough match but I hope to score or provide an assist,” he offered.
Alwanga was on target in the 2-1 first leg win against the bankers at Kasarani. Cliff Nyakeya also scored before Chrispinus Onyango netted a late consolation for KCB at the death.
