Mathare United battled to a barren draw with Western Stima at the Moi Stadium in Kisumu on Sunday.

A slow burner encounter came to life in the second half but it turned out to be a tale of missed chances on either end.

Andrew Juma had the best chance for the visitors in the 34th minute but his shot from the edge of the box came off the left upright.

Kennedy Otieno missed two golden opportunities for the hosts in the second half. First, he was played clean through on goal by Mwaniki in the 55th minute but he blasted wide.

Then he connected to a low cross from Mwaniki in the 64th but his effort cannonned off the bar.

The result leaves us sixth with 50 points.
