Mathare prove too strong for All Stars

Mathare United proved to be too strong for visiting Kisumu All Stars at the MISC, Kasarani on Saturday 7 March where they emphatically won 4-1 in round 23 of the Kenyan Premier League (KPL).

Four different players, Kevin Kimani, Clifford Alwanga, Daniel Otieno and Tyson Otieno, scored to secure the season’s double over the league debutants with Eric Otieno grabbing the consolation for All Stars with his freekick deflecting off the defensive wall.

Eighth win

The win is Mathare’s eighth of the season that in turn hoists the team up to 8th on the standings with 33 points.

Alwanga was named Man of the Match as he also added two assists to his goal. He and Kimani were also on target in the first-leg matchup that ended 2-1.

The team will have an almost two week break before their next outing against Ulinzi Stars in Nakuru on March 18.
