Sharks edge Mathare in entertaining Slum Derby

The Slum Derby lived up to its billing despite Mathare United losing 3-2 to Kariobangi Sharks at Kasarani on Wednesday.

Eric Kapaito found the breakthrough at the half hour before Duke Abuya doubled the visitors lead on 43 minutes from a freekick routine.

Clifford Alwanga halved the deficit two minutes after the restart with a glancing header but Julius Masaba restored Sharks' two goal advantage in the 70th minute from a counter attack.

Cliff Nyakeya converted from the spot two minutes later after Bonifcae Onyango handled in the box but Sharks held on for victory.

The result leaves us fourth with 46 points.
