Situma: We will do it for Baby Jansen

James Situma insists that victory over Western Stima on Sunday will be the perfect way to open a new chapter of his life.

Situma, who will lead the team in the absence of skipper Chrispin Oduor who is nursing an injury, was blessed with a bouncing baby boy on Friday night.

An elated Situma could not hold back his joy as he looks to lead the team as the father to his newborn son Jansen.

Jansen the footballer

“It feels great to have a son. I want him to become a footballer in future so there is no better way to introduce him to the game than with a win. It would be great if we win tomorrow. I will dedicate it to him (Jansen) and my family,” said Situma.

The Slum Boys will be going for victory against a Stima side that is on a three match losing streak. However Situma believes it will be a tough test.

Unpredictable

“They’ve got a lot of quality and they showed that in the first leg. We need to stick to our game plan because it’s a team that can surprise you especially when they are playing at home. We have been playing very well away this season so the target is to continue with that trend.

“The gap between the top six teams is not that big so to maintain our place we have to give our best and pick maximum points,” added Situma.

The first leg ended in a barren draw though Mathare United has never beaten Western Stima at their backyard since July 2012.
